The start of the season allows new head coach Bryan Harsin to pick up two easy wins against Akron and Alabama State to ramp up for the big game at Penn State. Auburn‘s athleticism should be too much for Penn State. Georgia State should hang around for a quarter but that will be about it.

There is some weird voodoo when AU plays at LSU. The visiting Tigers have not won in Red Stick in about 2 decades. The trend continues this year as Auburn loses another winnable game in Baton Rouge. Auburn should be able to pick up the pieces the following week as Georgia visits. I think Georgia chokes in this game as Kirby does not have the best track record on the road against SEC West teams. The emotional high for Auburn causes another fluky loss at Arkansas the next week. The bye week will allow the Tigers to heal up before making a late season run. Ole Miss won’t be able to stop Auburn’s run game and will make some key turnovers. The following week Auburn should be able to come out with a win in College Station. The road team usually win the AU - TAMU series. The game against MS State won’t be much of a contest as Auburn will score a pick six in this game and shut down the air raid with soft zone coverage. The following week at South Carolina will look like a rivalry game after the Tigers raided the Gamecocks staff this offseason. Auburn will still win but it will be a close, hard fought game. The following week Alabama comes to town and Auburn will play a solid game up until the 4th quarter when the Tide will pull away like they did in 2009.
